Kim’s Yong-In Martial Arts’ Philosophy
“We believe in empowering our students with valuable skills for daily life: cooperation, respect, self-control, focus, and confidence. We know from experience that training in Taekwondo helps students in their personal and professional lives. The positive character traits that develop with our training help students at work and school, at home and on the playing field. We also believe that contributing to our community is a natural extension of improving each student’s life. Happier, more confident students lead to happier families, which lead to more cohesive communities.”
That philosophy is on display in Holly Springs, where their students have made a significant positive impact on the community.
Kim’s Yong-In schools actively contribute to building stronger communities through various initiatives and continually seek out opportunities to contribute to the community, including self-defense seminars, charity fundraisers, and educational demonstrations.
About the Founder: Master Daeryung Kim
Master Kim is the founder and head instructor of their martial arts school, and he is thrilled to have opened the second location at Sweetwater Apex. A 6th Dan Black Belt and a proud graduate of Yongin University in South Korea—a university world-renowned for its martial arts and sports education—Master Kim holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Taekwondo and Sports Education.
Master Kim’s mission in opening Kim’s Yong-In schools is simple but powerful: to use Taekwondo as a tool to empower individuals of all ages physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Through discipline, respect, perseverance, and community, he has created a space where students not only become stronger martial artists but also better versions of themselves.

Spotlight on their Apex Instructors
In addition to Master Kim, they’re proud to have a dedicated and passionate team of instructors at the Apex location—notably, Master Jang, who has been with the school for four years at the Holly Springs location.
He trained in traditional Taekwondo in Korea and majored in Taekwondo, making him an exceptional instructor. Master Jang is known for his incredible ability to connect with younger students and bring energy and motivation to every class.
All the instructors are trained in traditional Taekwondo as well as modern teaching methods, ensuring a balanced, effective, and engaging experience for all students.
