Sweetwater has its own primary care facility with Duke Primary Care, located at 1481 Richardson Rd., Suite 118.

Full-Service Primary Care in Sweetwater

This is a full-service primary care location open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. providing routine and sick medical care to children, teens, and adults.

Their website states they provide newborn care as well. Other areas of care include immunizations, smoking cessation, school and newborn vaccinations, school and sports physicals, hearing, vision and development screenings, women’s health care, diabetes education and nutritional counseling, and ongoing care for asthma, allergies, and high blood pressure.

The clinic offers an on-site lab, accessibility services, interpreters, and Wi-Fi. They also accept many types of insurance, which are listed on their website.

Meet the Providers

There are currently five providers, and all are accepting new patients. Below are snippets from their online bios.

Gunjan K. Patel, DO, believes in prevention. He says, “It is my mission to help my patients down a path of preventing disease and keeping existing diseases from worsening. This requires focusing on lifestyle changes that can help to both prevent and slow down the progression of disease.” Dr. Patel is an LGBTQ+ ally.

Vinay Patidar, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who is “dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients of all ages. I enjoy building lasting relationships with my patients and empowering them to take an active role in their health.”

Matthew Geisz, MD, is a Raleigh, NC, native who says, “I enjoy getting to know each patient and learning about them as an individual to help personalize their care. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and have received all of my education in the Triangle.”

Gia Han N. Pham, DO, served as a physician in the US Navy, and says, “I enjoy building mutual relationships of trust and respect with my patients, which are important first steps of a lifelong journey to a healthier life.” Dr. Pham also speaks Vietnamese.

Emily K. Bayes, PA-C, recently transitioned from hospital-based internal medicine to outpatient. She says, “I strive to equip and empower my patients to understand and advocate for themselves.”
