Prepaze Academy’s Mission
I spoke with Shenba Chockalingam, the CEO and founder of Prepaze Academy, who told me about their mission, which is “to offer high-quality, effective supplemental learning programs for students across K–12 levels, with a strong commitment to inclusive education for all.”
They believe that “every child is unique and so must be their learning path.”
What They Do
Prepaze Academy offers both one-on-one and group tutoring for grades K–12, to students of all different learning capacities. Their space is a relaxed environment where students feel welcome and encouraged to express themselves, and look forward to coming. Their goal is to inspire academic confidence and a genuine love of learning in every student.
Many of the tutors at their new Apex location are from the community. Ms. Chockalingam said they look for tutors who are passionate about helping students. She believes teaching is a service, not just a business.
Their tutors connect with students, understand their pain points, offer no judgment, and make their students feel comfortable and want to try.
She told me students often reach out to their tutors by email when they have questions on their homework or a topic they are learning in the classroom.
AI, Track-Out & Testing
The academy offers an AI-enhanced platform that tracks each individual student’s progress and adjusts the lesson plan according to their strengths and weaknesses, which allows students extra time on the topics they struggle with. The technological platform is open to parents, and they are welcome to come in and see how it works anytime.
Prepaze also has track out programs during school vacations, during which they are open every day of the week and offer enrichment and academic classes, such as chess, robotics, public speaking, creative writing, and more.
They also offer SAT/ACT coaching to high school students.
Prepaze Academy’s success is proven. Their Morrisville location (among others) has been highly successful and has helped hundreds of students achieve their goals, including gaining acceptance into many colleges around the country.
Ms. Chockalingam said that most of their business comes by word of mouth from their happy clients.

Their Apex academy hours are Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Most sessions are 75 minutes long, with some a bit longer, and students usually attend once a week, but may come more often.
